Denise draws deeply from her surroundings. With a background in teaching Textiles and Design, she brings strong technical expertise and creative curiosity to her practice. Her textile work combines fabric, freehand machine stitching, thread painting, and intricate confetti techniques to depict birds, animals, and natural scenes. Each piece reflects a rich interplay of colour, texture, and movement. Denise also works in felting, using merino wool and hand-dyed silk to create luxurious scarves that are both wearable and artistic, each one uniquely echoing organic form and natural colour. Her watercolours, often floral or nature-based, range from finely detailed studies to more expressive, abstract works. Whether through careful control or fluid spontaneity, her paintings capture the quiet elegance of the natural world.
