About the Event
About
Pine Creek Gold Rush Festival celebrates the history of Gold Mining in the region.
They host the competition for the Northern Territory Gold Panning Championship.
At one time during the gold rush days there were 5000 Chinese miners in the area. They honor the contribution made by the Chinese with a spectacular Lion Dance performed by the Chung Wah Society dragon dancers from Darwin.
The Festival is an opportunity for the local population to showcase their town and its rich mining history.
On the Friday night there will be an art and photographic exhibition/competition to foster creative
endeavors in the town and region.
