About the Event
About
Artist Hiromi Tango has produced an interactive art installation that is growing like a garden in Town Hall Gallery at Hawthorn Arts Centre. The piece is part of 'Seasonal Shifts', a major group exhibition that explores multifaceted relationships with the passage of time and our natural surroundings.
Noted for her work on the connection between art and wellbeing, Hiromi Tango has created an environment within the gallery that invites visitors to create intricate, nature-inspired forms from upcycled textiles and materials.
Healing Garden is an invitation to slow down, nurture creativity, and gently contribute to a living artwork. The project embodies the therapeutic potential of art through tactile activities like wrapping, binding, and knotting which promote a state of mindfulness.
Guided sessions are held every Friday morning for the duration of the exhibition. Self-guided crafting is welcomed any time, with the materials and tools provided in the gallery. The public are encouraged to add their contribution to the evolving, immersive garden installation.
