About
Celebrate the 20th Woodend Winter Arts Festival over the King's Birthday long weekend in June.
Over four days, WWAF will present a dynamic, entertaining and engaging program in the charming village of Woodend, in the heart of Victoria's Macedon Ranges. World class performers will be joined by some of Australia's brightest minds for a series of incredible performances and discussions.
The music program features international guests Davide Monti (violin) and Maria Christina Cleary (harp); along with Moroccan vocalist Lamiae Naki and her ensemble Seffarine. Direct from Vienna, Anne-Harvey-Nagl will perform Brahms' three sonatas with John O'Donnell.
Other artists include Chris Johnstone (guitar) & the Mat Jodrell Quartet; Trio Anima Mundi (piano), Ken Murray (Spanish guitar), Berta Brozgul (solo piano) and 8 Cellos. Internationally acclaimed Victorian based ensembles Ensemble Gombert and Accademia Arcadia return, while Inventi Ensemble will deliver a family friendly performance of Cinderella.
The Words & Ideas program will deliver engaging discussions and debates. Celebrate Jane Austen's 250th birthday with her great niece, Caroline Jane Knight, and explore William Morris's designs with Christopher Menz. Hear from bright minds such as Rodney Hall, Margaret Simons, Judith Brett, Dietmar Toubier and Michael McCoy.
