About
FeNaClNG (Fee-nackling) Festival has grown and developed over the years along with the changes to the local economy and community. The Festival has historically run across a weekend in late July/early August, with the following Monday being a Public Holiday in the City of Karratha.
The weekend days have typically seen the Bulgarra Oval turned into a fairground with sideshows, rides, food stalls, community displays, entertainment and live music, and a fireworks display has ended the festivities on the Sunday night.
Since its inception in 1972 by the Karratha Lions Club, FeNaClNG Festival has been the heart of family-fun and community fundraising & engagement. The name derived from formulas for Iron, Salt and Natural Gas represents some of the Pilbara's richest minerals and largest resources trade.
2025 marks FeNaClNG's 53rd Year, featuring two fun-filled days of festival activities, including sideshow rides, carnival games, food stalls, community displays, markets, entertainment and live music. Improvements from the community and council have been suggested, such as another food hall to be constructed, return of a motorbike activity and the removal of a fireworks display in substitue for another activity.
