Plein Air Down Under Outdoor Painting Festival

This event is a celebration of outdoor painting. Australia's premier outdoor painting festival, Plein Air Down Under, brings together artists and art lovers for an unforgettable celebration of creativity. Running across multiple locations in Mandurah and Pinjarra, with over $12,000 in cash and prizes, the festival features an exciting lineup of workshops, paint outs, exhibitions, awards, prizes, demonstrations, and artist talks. Pre and Post Festival Activities include the World Wide Paint Out in Mandjar Square Mandurah, followed by the opening of the Spirit of the Landscape Exhibition inside the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. There will also be Oil & Gouache Painting masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artist Michele Usibelli from the U.S.A., Pastel Painting with Aaron Schuerr from the U.S.A., Plein Air Painting with Leon Holmes from W.A. and workshops led by award-winning artists. These include Watercolour with Gordon Alexander, Urban Sketching with Andy Dolphin and Acrylic Painting with Linda MacAulay. There will be an Artists Meet and Greet at the Leon Holmes Gallery, live demonstrations by featured artists, and day and evening paint-outs in scenic locations including the historic Pinjarra townsite. There will be a two-hour 'Quick Draw' painting competition on Monday, two exhibitions showcasing festival artwork and free have-a-go painting activities for all ages. The festival weekend has something for everyone. Entry Cost All tickets $0 - This event is FREE for spectators to enjoy the festival atmosphere and watch the artists painting. Youth Artist Registration (18 and under): $10.00 for up to 3 days of painting. Adult Artist Registration: $95.00 Early Bird (until 31 July) $120.00 Standard, for up to 7 days of painting.
